Have stayed here quite a few times. Staff for the most part is friendly as are the guests. Older crowd, so if you're looking for the young pretties this isn't the place for you. Low key and quiet with a decent play room. Cleanliness is up and down, and management changes often, but still my go to due to friendly people that stay there. Hard place to be if you don't have a car to get you to Wilton Manors unless you Uber. The monthly bear nights (BNSF) tend to always draw a huge crowd (2nd Saturday of every month). Also -- the best heated pool I have ever been in!

Old and run down

Guests were not very friendly. Lots of creepy people luring outside the gate. Beds were uncomfortable and old linens.

12 Year Anniversary

My partner and I came to Fort Lauderdale to celebrate our 12th year anniversary, during the Memorial Weekend. We stayed at The Windamar Beach Resort and had a great time. Our room was a nice size studio apartment with a full kitchen. I am on a very strict diet so having access to a kitchen with all accessories makes traveling easier on me. Our place was cleaned daily by very friendly staff, who made our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed talking with Julio, I enjoyed hearing about Fort Lauderdale gay history, he made us feel welcomed and at home. I would come back again to visit this hotel.

Unprofessional business practices.

We arrived after a day of driving to find out the room we reserved was not available due to a broken pipe, and they had re-booked us to The Cheston House (very nice) for the night and our room would be available the next day. The next day we called before moving back and were assured our room would be ready by noon. When we checked in at 1 Pm we were given a sub-standard room with a double bed, out dated bath, very old TV, and dirty carpeting, no refrigerator and out dated bath, when we had contracted for a room with a Queen sired bed, a sofa sleeper, kitchenette. Theyhoped we wouldn't notice, on complaining we were able to move ourselves to a different room which was quite nice, but, still not what we had contracted for, only 1 bed and no sofa sleeper. We were not offered a discounted rate, or any explanation of why we did not receive the room we contracted for. We did get the 1 night free that they picked up for us at the Cheston. When complaining they said they cannot guarantee rooms, sometimes they have to move people around. Try for rooms 6a, or 6B, or 8. Otherwise the place was pretty much what they describe it as, and we met some nice people there.
