Pleasant Weekend, Great Hosts

Ordinarily I don't take the time to write reviews after staying at a bed & breakfast, but because of the posts below, which came to my attention as I was driving to Ft. Lauderdale, I decided to add my two cents. My partner and I booked our room in early December so we could spend the weekend in Wilton Manor with friends who lived locally. We reviewed the web page and the resort did in deed looked very nice, but most important to us was being walking distance to all of the other gay locations in WM. We have stayed in a lot of gay resorts in Ft. Lauderdale and otherwise and never expect the same level of service or ameneties we get when we stay at the Ritz or Lowes, but we usually enjoy the experience. While it was not a perfect stay it was generally pretty nice, and we found the owners to want to bend over backwards to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. For our stay, the pool was clean and pleasantly warm (almost hot tub warm), the rooms and grounds were clean, the continental breakfast and evening wine tasting both sufficient, we also had ample soap and shampoo in our room. As indicated it wasn't perfect, WiFi did not work, wash cloths and bath mats would have been nice, and a locking gate would have been appreciated, although we did not notice any non-guests walking around and we enjoyed the pool at various times late at night when we got in from dancing. For what it is worth, when we go back to Ft. Lauderdale, and we want a gay guest house experience we will definately keep Aragon on a short list of places to stay. Thanks Tony and Bruce for an enjoyable stay.

Total FAKE, horrible

There are a few 5 star reviews, they must fake by the owners... the other reviews are all 1's, the place is a total fake. They represent themselves as a boutique hotel with 2 pools, a hot tub and amenities.. all fake... one pool, it's dirty, the room as dirty, paint was peeling off the window frames in the bath, the bath was musty and nasty, there is not even soap and shampoo provided. we had booked for 12 nights but only stayed 1, then when we left, they charged us for full 12 nights... this is a total embarrassment to the gay community and the Fort Lauderdale guest houses who try very hard... this place is dirty and and nothing more than a hostel.. don't be fooled.. It only added insult to the situation when we decided to leave and then they told us had to pay for the full 12 days even thought the place was dirty, the bed was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the hot tub was non-existant, the wi-fi did not work.. etc et... oh did I mention the front gate did not lock and some guys were wandering around outside our room at 2am? that were not guests? Dont stay here!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

Not sure if others stayed in the same aragon inn we stayed @ in Wilton Manors but TRUST ME, the only thing good about this piece of crap is what is falsely advertised on the website and pretty pictures. Where the hell do i start? I understand this is not a hotel but @ least do not falsely advertise your amenities. I am not the one to review hotels or guesthouses but after this trip, it had to be done. For starters, there is NO Hot tub, NO NO NO hot tub despite mentioning that it was available on their website - when asked about this, the reason was - FL does not allow digging 4 hot tubs, REALLY? REALLY? - The Cabannas has one. No fresh flowers in room, no happy hour despite mentioning it on the website. The are no flat screen TVs in the bedrooms (despite being mentioned on website), continental breakfast was a JOKE, internet access was a JOKE - connection very low that it kept on booting off/on. No telephones in bedrooms, No iron & iron board, no channel guide for the TV, the comforter and sheet had holes in them, i mean WTF, it was clearly visible, the wool kept on coming out of different parts of the comforter, loud AC, tiny fridge, crack in ceiling/walls, pool (Only 1 and not 2) not clean. The towels were so thin, no wash cloths in the room when we arrived - it had to be requested the next morning (the latin dude said he had to wash the towels before some could be given to us), you mean to say you dont have extra towels in stock for guests? The bath soaps were so fake and thin that they kept breaking everytime it was used, also no scent, tissue super thin. The walls are so thin that you could hear every little thin going on next door (showers, using the toilet, tv, doors slammin/shaking). The toilet dirty, shower had mildew and broken soap in there before we used it - why didnt someone wash it before new guests arrived?, toilet barely flushed. The closet had random hangers in there that guests left (hangers from dry cleaners). No maid service - some latin guy came banging the door in the mornings asking "u need something"? What a joke. Dont be fooled by the fact that this dump is a walking distance to the wilton drive bars which is the ONLY plus and one of their selling points, it is NOT worth it. We could not wait to check out of this place, owners were also no where to be found. If you want to stay in Wilton manors, stay @ the Cabannas Guesthouse and take a 5 min cab to the bars/restaurants, there are tons of cabs outside all the bars - IT IS HELLA WORTH IT.

Nasty Nasty Nasty

We didn't even finish checking in. When we arrived, there was one staff siting at a table who wanted to know what we wanted. We said we were checking in. Surprise, no owner. The one staff member said the owner would be back in ten minutes and showed us around a moldy, smelly, unkempt place. The pool and surrounding area was dirty with moldy furniture haphazardly scattered around. He took us to our room that didn't not have the wide screen tv as the web site promised. He took us back to the office / breakfast area that was again unkempt and moldy. We walked back to the room and booked a place at Palm Plaza Resort where it is at least clean and mold free.

Don't know where the other reviewers stayed

Not sure where the other guys stayed, because it was not the place we stayed called Aragon. Spent 4 days and 3 nites, and never once saw a single continental breakfast, other than a cup of coffee. Never found the second pool, the hot tub was empty in the mosquito grotto and the happy hour never happened. No flat panel in the room. We only saw 1 staff member the first 2 days for about 10 mins, showing us the room for a second and then disappearing. Then the owner was there for about 10 minutes before the rain. No maid service or cleaning at all, no hooks for wet towels... not a good experience at all... just convenient to wilton manors. thats all.
