The Big Coconut Guesthouse Formerly: Coconut Cove Guesthouse

95% love it
Key West comes to Fort Lauderdale
Clothing optional gay guesthouse, close to the beach. Nice pool. Also close to shops and nightlife. Rooms are spacious.

    • Friendly welcoming host makes for friendly welcoming guests. Relaxed friendly atmosphere in a clothing optional space. Mostly bears so no body shaming here. Great place to soak up the sun and get in some naked pool time. Good location for easy access to both the beach and Wilton Manors.

      Paradise, and ease
I have been staying here on vacations since 2005. It has an excellent location, and good service. The rooms are reasonable, and well appointed. It's a little island paradise on the beach. I like that they actually have a full breakfast, and not just a muffin. Well done.

      Home Away From Home
My Partner and I recently stayed a week at Coconut Cove. We were treated like family the whole week we were there, the owner Dave is like the long lost brother. His personality shines as he treats all his guest like family. The rooms are spottless, roomy, and decorated great. The grouds are kept up as well. The location is also fantastic.5 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. We will definetly be back next year.

    • Next Door Magazine's Top Guest House
We love Coconut Cove. When in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Coconut Cove is Next Door Magazine's place to revel. We enjoy the amazing rooms, close proximity to beach, and David's top-notch hospitality. I would recommend Coconut Cove to anyone when visiting Ft. Lauderdale. Central location and close to everything!

      A great place with personality
I have stayed at the Coconut Cove guesthouse on more occassions than I can remember. Each time without complaint; David the owner is a gracious and engaging host that we have befriended. It caters to the bear crowd, but never have the younger guys or twinks felt uncomfortable there. Just spent the weekend there for my birthday and brought along 5 othrers that had a very nice stay. I definitely suggest giving this place a shot!

      Historic or just old
I stayed here in March because of all the positive reviews. I was not impressed. I stayed in one of the nicest rooms and I just felt the place was worn and had crossed the line from "historic" to just plain old. I would not stay here again.

      Great, Bear Friendly Resort...
My partner and I stay here just about every time we come to Fort Lauderdale. It's an awesome clothing optional guest house. There's about 10 or so rooms, so it's a nice intimate setting. Dave, the owner, is very social with the clientele during breakfast and happy hour. We've never had a bad time here! Tends to be a "bearish" crowd, so if you like that you'll love this. If you're into twinks, this is NOT the place for you.

Nice guesthouse close to the beach.
Like many of Fort Lauderdale's guesthouses, this establishment caters mostly to older men. Don't be fooled by the hot models on the brochures. Beyond that, it is a nice property 1 block from the beach. Rooms are large, clean & comfortable. Nice grounds with large heated pool. Good breakfast in the morning.

welcoming hospitality, great location, hot men
Just got home from 5 days at the Coconut Cove. I've stayed at about a dozen guesthouses in the last ten years or so, but none like this one. David, the owner and host, genuinely enjoys spending time with his guests without being intrusive. Friendly and accommodating staff, well kept gardens, and hot men coming and going (literally). Rooms are nicely appointed, lots of breakfast items to choose from, not just muffins and coffee. David's parrot, Peanut has breakfast with everyone. But dont tell anyone about this hidden gem, I want to make sure I get a good room next year! Jim

We have been coming to Fort Lauderdale for quite a few years and have finally found the guest house we can't wait to return to! Many have been poorly kept or run by owners wilth bad-attitudes that can make your stay uncomfortable. I can promise you this is not the case with David and his staff at Coconut Cove!! From the second we got there to the minute we left (almost 2 weeks) we were treated like kings and left feeling we made a new friend for life. The rooms and hotel are very clean, the plantings well kept and lush, the pool is very well maintained. The new owner, David really cares and did anything he could to make our stay comfortable and laid-back. He even ran to the store for us one day! We will never look for a better place again because we have found it at C.C. !!
