Hotel has now expanded to 5 interconnected buildings. Don't let the publicity photos fool you, atmosphere is "stand offish" as the property has morphed into a "fancy resort". Gone are the days of having fun at a gay court yard hotel in the Central Beach area. Only reason to stay is the proximity to the beach and a few restaurants, but these cater to the tourist trade as well. Most migrate to Wilton Manors for entertainment.

Yuck! If you’re into the 80 and older set book away. The owner is as charming as a Barracuda. I warned you.

poor customer service

This place can be a lot of fun depending on the staff that is working. A few seem to be on a power trip and using very poor judgment when it come to enforcing hotel policies. For example, on Labor Day evening at 10:15 my friends and I were sitting by the pool playing cards while listening to a wonderful Pink ballade on my iPhone at a respectable level. The hotel attendant came out and told me to "turn off my music". While all the people in my party were baffled at his request I acquiesced. When another member of our party asked the hotel attendant to justify his request his response was "It is hotel policy that after 10pm that all music be off!" Since this was our forth night at the hotel and our first time hearing this, I then asked him to supply the the written policy that stated this or to point us in the direction of the posted sign that had the music policy listed. He could not and began to feel very threatened by our line of questioning. He then felt the only option he had was to threaten to throw us out!...for playing music on my cellphone...and then asking for him to justify his request with proof of policy?!?! Not one of us cursed at him or were threatening to him. In all fairness if he could have supplied me with any justification I would not feel so compelled to write this post. That's fine! I spent close to $1000 to be here and I will be happy to never return. It's sad when you pay so much for a world class resort and get better respect for your business at motel 6.

Not the greatest

Please do not get into the hot tubs, or at least stay in there too long. My boyfriend and I went to the Worthington House almost 2 weeks ago and we are still in pain from the amount of acid they poured into the hot tubs. We got a full body chemical peel that we were not looking for-hair singed off, cracked skin and all. You are not supposed to stay in the hot tub for too long, but considering the limited things you can do at the Worthington House, the majority of the guys there connected and flirted in the hot tub. If you want to get wet then jump in the pools. The staff at the Worthington were not the most accommodating. They pretty only connected with the guest if they felt like they needed to or if it was your birthday. Too bad, the staff at clothing optional places can either make or break the guys’ experience. The staff did their jobs, but don’t expect much more. Overall, I was not impressed by the Worthington and am interested if the other gay men’s clothing optional hotels in Ft. Lauderdale are better. Looking for something more upscale, fun, and freeing…hope in a car and take the drive down to Key West and stay at the Island House-definitely an upgrade from the WH.
