***** A great place with personality
Posted: November 12, 2009 - Visited: November 2009
I have stayed at the Coconut Cove guesthouse on more occassions than I can remember. Each time without complaint; David the owner is a gracious and engaging host that we have befriended. It caters to the bear crowd, but never have the younger guys or twinks felt uncomfortable there. Just spent the weekend there for my birthday and brought along 5 othrers that had a very nice stay. I definitely suggest giving this place a shot! Submitted via GayCities iPhone application

***** Historic or just old

I stayed here in March because of all the positive reviews. I was not impressed. I stayed in one of the nicest rooms and I just felt the place was worn and had crossed the line from "historic" to just plain old. I would not stay here again.

***** Great, Bear Friendly Resort...

My partner and I stay here just about every time we come to Fort Lauderdale. It's an awesome clothing optional guest house. There's about 10 or so rooms, so it's a nice intimate setting. Dave, the owner, is very social with the clientele during breakfast and happy hour. We've never had a bad time here! Tends to be a "bearish" crowd, so if you like that you'll love this. If you're into twinks, this is NOT the place for you.

***** Nice guesthouse close to the beach.

Like many of Fort Lauderdale's guesthouses, this establishment caters mostly to older men. Don't be fooled by the hot models on the brochures. Beyond that, it is a nice property 1 block from the beach. Rooms are large, clean & comfortable. Nice grounds with large heated pool. Good breakfast in the morning.

***** welcoming hospitality, great location, hot men
Posted: April 11, 2008 - Visited: April 2008
Just got home from 5 days at the Coconut Cove. I've stayed at about a dozen guesthouses in the last ten years or so, but none like this one. David, the owner and host, genuinely enjoys spending time with his guests without being intrusive. Friendly and accommodating staff, well kept gardens, and hot men coming and going (literally). Rooms are nicely appointed, lots of breakfast items to choose from, not just muffins and coffee. David's parrot, Peanut has breakfast with everyone. But dont tell anyone about this hidden gem, I want to make sure I get a good room next year! Jim

***** THE BEST BY THE BEACH!!
Posted: April 01, 2008 - Visited: March 2008
We have been coming to Fort Lauderdale for quite a few years and have finally found the guest house we can't wait to return to! Many have been poorly kept or run by owners wilth bad-attitudes that can make your stay uncomfortable. I can promise you this is not the case with David and his staff at Coconut Cove!! From the second we got there to the minute we left (almost 2 weeks) we were treated like kings and left feeling we made a new friend for life. The rooms and hotel are very clean, the plantings well kept and lush, the pool is very well maintained. The new owner, David really cares and did anything he could to make our stay comfortable and laid-back. He even ran to the store for us one day! We will never look for a better place again because we have found it at C.C. !!

***** laid back, great service

David, the newer owner, did a great job of accommodating a group of us for my partner's 40th, even throwing in a room upgrade. The atmosphere was relaxing, unpretentious and friendly. CC is also convenient to a few (non-gay) bars/restaurants, when you'd rather walk than drive.
