Guest Apperance by James Allen Clarke
Like many new country singers of the mid-'90s, James Allen fused on traditionalist country with a slick, rock-oriented sense of style and production. James Allen was a little wilder, at least off the stage, than many of his peers but his soon to be released record has a down-to-earth sense of sentimentality that he believes will give him a broad fan base.
Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, James Allen became involved in music as he was growing up. He sang gospel music and learned how to play guitar and piano. A few years later after he graduated from high school, he moved just north of his home town to Columbus Ohio. He began singing and traveling with a gospel group for a few years before heading out west to Phoenix AZ. Initially, he had a difficult time gaining a foothold in the music industry, spending six years without making any real headway.
James Allen moved from out west and headed to music city Nashville Tennessee, where he began slugging it out in local honky tonks, developing a small but dedicated following of fans. James Allen is awaiting his first single, "If I Didnt Know Better," now released on the radio.
