Had a fantastic evening on this night. All the employees were fantastic considering the amount of people present!

I have been coming to Ft Laud for about 10 years now and have made some amazing friends through Alibi. I have a few that still work their and are a blast when i am in town. Not to mention the HOT men that go there as well...

We have been coming to the Alibi for the past 9 years when we go to Ft. Lauderdale. Every year it gets worse. The bar food is much worse than it used to be and the bartenders/waiters are not nearly as nice as they used to be. Staff has way too much attitude. More places to go in the Wilton Manor area.

Georgie's anchors Wilton Manor's gay strip-mall, and the other business there should thank it attracting so many customers. Thursday night ($3 Long Island Night) the place is so packed the boys spill out into the parking lot, making it look like a big gay riot! Great drinks and specials, and food served late for anyone who needs to eat after going to another bar. Though it's a lot quieter depending on the night of the week, it's always a good place to hang out.

I almost thought I was dreaming...but Florida, Smoke Free Bar? I travel the world...most major cities have gone smoke free in Europe...and even some here in the states....Who would have thought...and it was PACKED!
Go Figure! Good crowd, better Drinks...had a great time and didn't smell like an ASHTRAY when I left.

Seems to be "the place" for locals and visitors. Friendly bar staff who mix a mean, well-priced drink. Big crowd of all different types. Any age/look would feel comfortable and welcome here. Very big crowd and fun music. Good place to meet and talk to people.

Had a great time here! Nice people, good music, frequented by many locals. Not much attitude but I think its the type of place where you need to know when most of the crowd/locals attend, otherwise its a hit and miss gamble.

I went to Boom with a few friends and my man earlier in the night... LOVED it (as always) Then we headed over to Georgies so my friend could get a soda... We walk in-the guy in the front was rude but w/e...The bartender tells my friend its a $10 drink minimum so she bought a round of drinks... 2 MINUTES LATER next thing i know the guy who carded us at the door is throwing my drink out and grabs my friend (a girl) and is pushing her out the club... when i tried to take my friend to the car he grabbed me and wouldnt let me go... I was SO angry, my man was about to lose it.... ill never go back here again- the bar backs are rude for no reason and the clientele is all older tacky men who sit around like vultures in a summer heat.... Ill stay over at BOOM!

I love the staff at georgies. The bartenders and servers are sweet and nice. I really enjoy the food and drinks. 2-4-1 until 9pm is nice. The Turkey and Cran sandwich is to die for! The only issue I have with it is the clientele that comes there. As mentioned in previous reviews, a lot of them are very self-righteous queens that need a kick in the teeth. If you want friendly customers, go to Bills, The Depot or Cubbie Hole.
I recommend Georgies as a "starting off" point for dinner and a couple drinks before going to the bars with more hospitable clientele.

We liked Georgie's...the vibe was fun, the staff friendly and quick, the food is pretty good.....it became our hangout pretty much every night of the week we stayed in Lauderdale!

Was in Ft Lauderdale for two weeks last December 2008, and Georgies Alibi is a great bar with friendly staff who remember what you drink.... that's a good bar.

As I am from NYC and have been to virutally every hotspot, I was hoping to find some heat at Alibi. Found the opposite: the place was boring and the music dull; the men were tired and the food tacky. I will never go back. I will stick to my clubs in NYC.

I seriously felt like I was back in high school. Very cliqueish and people who thought think they are better than everyone else because they have their friends there to back them up.
I'm not in perfect shape and I'm over 35 so clearly I couldn't be a member of this country club...lol. Funny thing, once I left and walked to my car I suddenly became very attractive to these bois....seems a lexus will do that to 'em....lol.
Go to Bill's and then to dance at Boom and I promise you'll have a much better time.

I was kind of scared after reading a few bad reviews...but when I showed up on a Thursday night this place was packed beyond capacity with all varieties of very hot hot men! This really large bar/restaurant goes on forever and even has a large patio. I had a great time at Georgie's Alibi!!!

It's so apparent that the place that built Wilton Manors is no turning it into Wilton Manors. Oh my...try Matty's on the drive further down Wilton Dr.

This place used to be "the place" to hang out, a varied crowd, reasonable priced drinks, friendly bartenders. I live in Miami and was here with some out of townees friends this past weekend after many years of not going here. Boy, the place is starting to look run down, the crowd tend to be 50+ year olds pretending to be 21(Guys, tight A&F clothes look just stupid on anyone past 30!), lots of posers, attitude queens. The music is very loud and video screens every 2 feet!!! The staff appear tired and indifferent, food overprices and drinks not as good as they used to be. I think they need new management to freshen up the place.

I live in Ft. Lauderdale, and years ago this bar used to be the place where EVERYBODY hung out especially on Sunday afternoons/evenings. It used to be a really cool place, whether you were there to pose, hang out with friends, or meet people. They had decent drink prices and good service from the bartenders. Tried the food there a few times after they started doing that but didn't care much for it and found it a bit over-priced. The change to smoke-free was a good one.
Hadn't been there in years, until a couple weeks ago. Now it seems the place has gone down quite a bit. The hot men who used to hang out there aren't there anymore. Now its mostly middle age guys who don't seem to get that they're not young anymore, tourists, and a lot of posers who think they're hot stuff. Very, very fake ambiance and too many too-loud flat screen TVs all over the place. Worst of all the service is terrible. Overall not such a great place to hang out at all. I wouldn't recommend it.

A gotta do.

Middle age, and twinks much into Cliques, lot's of "elective reconstructive surgery" around, everyone jocking for attention without reciprocating. Social interaction at a minimum.
The only group I found friendly where guys on vacation, looking to get laid. Madonna must be a secret investor on this place, it should be renamed "Strike a Pose".
Very little room to navigate, and you are bombarded everywhere with big flat screens; audio/visual overload.

I visit this bar every time I am in Fort Lauderdale and love it. Good deals on drinks and really friendly bar staff with no attitude. The food is not great but puts a lining on your stomach! Will be back there December 08 for BillyFest V.

We were regulars there, but found, despite being REGULARS, as well as 20% tippers, people coming in AFTER us got served first, paid their bill and left... we got our food after THEY were done and it was STONE COLD. Apparently ya gotta BE sombody.. whatever THAT is. We get better service in straight places. The Georgies 'fad' may or may not pass, but not on my bucks. I don't mind waiting in line, but NOT after everybody in the place gets served. It's happened more than once.... action speaks louder than words.
Went back for a second try on 12/16/07; the place was nearly empty; ordered one hot dog, EACH @ six bucks each and two alcohol drinks, EACH.... got charged TWO BUCKS for ice that they threw away anyway, PLUS a TWO DOLLAR "surcharge" , whatever THAT was for. Total price: FIFTY BUCKS for TWO hot dogs and four drinks. Try "J. Alexanders"... believe it or not, it's cheaper.

Not my kind of place. They did have an abudance of attitude.

Okay, fellow reviewers... stop for a moment.
First of all, please know the local laws before you start complaining about the smoking/no smoking policy of Lauderdale bars. It is your responsibility to read up on this before you go out. Yes, you can smoke outside, and not inside. But - don't go to the Alibi for the food... I'll give you that bit of advice.
Do go for the atmosphere, and for the people. Lauderdale is indeed a tightly knit community, but I've been visiting for a long while, and realize all you have to do is be friendly and say hi. Yes, you might have a few jerks ignore you, but you'll find that anywhere. If all else fails, go to the booth and talk with Barry the VJ - he's a GREAT guy. Tip him, ask him to play some Patsty Cline, and you'll be a VIP in no time!
Cheer up fellas - it's a bar. Play the game, and enjoy Lauderdale. I certainly do.

I go there a few times a year even though I live close by. I have no complaints. Good food and service. I would recommend it.

It was like a private club. Everyone knows and hates each other. Jealosy was rampant. The few nice guys there surrounded themselves with miserable friends. They live under a microscope. Its a place to gossip and be seen, but I'd rather not

Had some really great food here. Suggest the Cuban. Excellent service when I went and you can't beat the 2-for-1 drink Happy Hours that run from 11am til 9 pm.

MY PARTNER AND I WERE AT GEORGIE'S ALTHOUGH THE FOOD IS GOOD WE BOTH SMOKE AS WELL I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CAN SMOKE OUTSIDE WERE THERE IS FOOD BEING SERVED AND NOT INSIDE WERE IT IS NOT LIKE ALL THE OTHER BARS WE WERE AT.ALSO WE FELT LIKE IT WAS A HASSLE TO GET SERVED OUTSIDE AS WELL AS INSIDE BY THE BARTENDERS.FUNNY HOW WE WENT JUST ACROSS THE PARKING LOT TO BOOM AND HAD GREAT FAST FRIENDLY SERVICE UNLIKE GEORGIE'S

I meet someone hot and new everytime I go there! Whether I meet a tourist or a local, I never have gone home alone! What a great place to meet a hot guy!

Good crowd, very competent staff and good drinks. Some attitude. I like the one in St. Pete, FL better.

If you don't like Georgie's Alibi you have someting wrong with you. It is the best gay bar in South Florida by far. All ages are welcome and being an older guy who likes to be in a mixed age bar this is the place to be.

WAS EXCITED TO SEE WHAT LAUDERDALE HAS TO OFFER. WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE PLACE WAS PACKED, BUT WITH DOGS MOSTLY. I'VE SEEN BETTER MEAT AT THE HORSETRACK, I MEAN REALLY- I THINK ALL THE HOT GUYS HAVE MOVED OUT OF TOWN.:)

...definitely worth seeing once. It's kind of like the old splash in ny.

Spent two months in the area, and always ended up back at this place. The place is BUSY seven nights a week! They have three different bar areas, serve some nice food even late, and have a very friendly staff. Get there early, as the parking lot does get full. It is in the same center as another club, Boom, which is a dance bar. All age groups, races and types mingle in this great palce to hang out from dinner time, late into the night. Can't wait to get back to Florida.

Go early. Every hot dude in town is there.

It's in a strip mall (although a gay strip mall, believe it or not--perhaps its only saving grace). It also seems to have a permanent unidentifiable stench, which smells something like cheese that has been left out. For that reason, you'll probably want to stay in the outdoor seating area.
So, what do you say?
