I live in florida and been to many clubs- this is the worst. Me and my friends ate at the restaurant there- yuk! Overpriced tasteless burgers etc.we then checked out the club and as soon as we enterered the door we were aggressively hit on by a european sounding guy. Submitted via GayCities iPhone application

Different guys go to different bars for different reasons. The reason to go to this bar is for the strippers. Not the best, but if this is your thing, then GO! Drinks are expensive and it needs some up-dating but...... for those into strippers and lap dancing, then this is the place to go. On Sundays, beer is cheap and food out on the back patio.

Positives: Sexy gorgeous dancers & bartenders, nice looking club, dancers assertive but not aggressive. Negatives: Pricy drinks Advice: Be very clear on what you will spend on a lap dance and that you want them to stop at that $$ amount. Recommend? Yes but not if you aren't prepared to spend money.

stripper bar where dancers circulate for tips. Each night can be hit or miss as far as the quality of dancers but there are some nice ones from the Ukraine; Czech Republic and Brazil. The dancers can be pushy for tips or lap dances but just tell them no and they will move on. All it takes is one or two dancers to make it a great visit. Try outdoor restaurant "beefcakes" for a good burger or sandwich. If you eat there, you get free admission to Boardwalk. Dancers work for tips and have to pay the house to work so if you are grabbing them and touching them remember to pay the fee!

I was there Saturday night with some Fort Lauderdale friends and knew what to expect (low expectations), but was still disappointed. Lots of hot beefy lap dancers yes, but all were bored, straight and really pushy like what you would get in a third world country. And hustler action? Maybe it was the night I was there, but not so great. A few not-so-attractive guys (dudes, ever hear of a gym?) who were also bored and not especially interested in getting new clients. I'm guessing management keeps the hustlers out / or low key so that the "employees" get better tips and the clients don't wander off. Nothing like Amsterdam, NY, London or LA where the pros actually show some interest. Dancers 3 stars. Hustlers 1 star.

Bartenders are very attentive. Be very careful when the dancers take you for a lap dance, they say it's an amount ($$) per song, but they don't let you know when a song is over. So keep your ears open for the end of the songs.

Visited over the Memorial Day weekend and was completely disappointed. I stayed long enough to finish my $6 beer. A cover charge of any kind for this hole is ridiculous much less $10. Dancers are hustlers beyond what would normally expect in a bar of this type. I couldn't go two seconds between sips of my beer without one of the hustlers coming by, grabbing my ass and wanting me to hire him for his services. They certainly do not understand the word "no." The place smells like a moldy dog house and has the original decor from when it must have opened many, many years ago. Don't waste your time here, there are plenty of other places in Fort Lauderdale for strippers.

I am a dancer at the Boardwalk since two weeks ago. I looked up reviews to see what others thought about it, and there seems to be a lot of negatives stemming from a clear understanding of what this type of place is about. To start off with, yes I am straight. This place operates like any other strip club(if you think BW's guys are out for your money, go to a women strip. Its like comparing a shark and a guppy) If I sense that someone is truly looking for a hookup/relationship/ etc..(A very stupid thing to do at a strip club where the dancers are paid by tips,lap dances), I tell them I am straight. Most dont care, the BW is about quick thrills and fulfilling the patrons fantasies(for a price, and only to a point) A lot of gay men like a very masculine guy, and straight fits the bill. If you have to have a gay guy, just do a little social networking and you will get to know who is who. Also remember the dancers work 6-9 hours a night and meet dozens of other men just like you that want to hook up with them(not to come off rude, but thats the reality. Another reason to reconsider trying to hook up there) There are some dancers that are for lack of a better word, lowlifes that walk around begging for money and make the place worse for everyone. I wish they would quit. One more thing, I read a lot of reviews in which people used the word "hustle". I agree, ever since moving to Fl that has happened to me quit often. Keep your eyes on your $$$, that means everywhere, not just the BW. Fl operates on tourists spending their(your) money.

This is a good gay strip bar! Hot dancers (in all varieties) are plentiful. Whether they are gay or straight I do not know or care. I'm not there to start a long term relationship. It's a fun bar.

Just don't even bother. Why on earth would I pay for some boy to wave his ass in my face or bounce on my lap with his clothes on? If I'm paying, that boy will be hotter than these and naked! Its not my taste and I think it's a ripoff, a cover charge to get hustled? Not for me.

I live in South Florida and absolutely do not recommend this place to any out of townees. This place is nothing more than a cover up for a hustler bar and a bad one at that too. The problem #1 is the dancers aka hustlers, thieves, thugs. These guys are mostly straight, behave like they don't want to be there, they look at patrons in disgust and are very obvious that they are there to get your money period. These guys can become very aggressive with demands for tips and lap dances or "whatever else." Avoid lap dance with these guys at all costs because there is no set price for lap dances and they make up their own prices. They don't tell you the prices up front and change them afterwords and become aggressive if you refuse to pay the made up amount. If you decide to go, just stand back and watch these guys walking around the bar like sharks measuring up their prey! Warning, if you are an older gentleman or have "silver/grey" hair, they will go after you like bees to honey. Also this place is very very smoky with poor ventialtion. You have been warned!

If you like being hustled, that is. The general setup of this place isn't very patron-friendly. The hustlers and go go boys begin to shake you down the minute you walk in, and some of them are very aggressive. I don't mind stuffing bills in a go go boy's G-string as long as he's hot, friendly, and puts on a good show. Most gay men are probably the same way because they go to gay stripper bars like the Boardwalk specifically for this reason. But here's the problem, some of these dancers are straight and its very obvious. Some of them also aren't that great looking or in all that great shape, and they don't know how to dance or how to put on a really fun stripper act. Not that a straight guy can't pull of a strip show in a gay club. We've all seen them do it many times in other clubs. But there's just something about the Boardwalk to me, it seems; they're more about milking the crowd than they are about fun and entertainment. The people who own this joint should spend a weekend at the male strip clubs in Vegas to see how its really done.

Dancers were pretty hot, however - We went in there thinking...ah...bring $175 cash and we'll probably have plenty left over when we leave. We left within 40 minutes and had $15 left! The dancers tell you that the private rate will cost you a certain amount and then it mysteriously doubles or triples. My take - $160 in less than 40 minutes = Don't go. Yes, there were some very hot dancers, but it was a HUGE ripoff. I'm hoping to find another place with dancers in town that actually appreciates their customers.

They've had their ups and downs, but overall I'd say they have tried to keep improving. Last time I was there in May I had a great time. The dancers were hot, they had a guest porn star who was very gracious and charming, and the atmosphere was festive.

Some of the dancers are ok but others are seriously out of shape and should be doing another job. I took my bf there for his birthday and we had some fun chatting up the cuties. Don't bother with the lap dances or boys asking you to buy them drinks. Better to find a hook up someplace else.

Guys, before you decide to go, keep in mind that there is a cover charge (which includes a drink). Also keep in mind that some of the dancers are straight. I was able to tell in most cases if they were gay or straight, but when I was in doubt I just asked them. I prefer to tip the gay guys. Some of the dancers are hot and some are not. If they are persistent, don't be afraid to tell them that you're not interested--they are working for tips, and if you aren't interested, they don't want to waste their time. Overall, I think this is a fun place, and I will definitely return.

I couldn't believe they wanted a $10 cover when there was only one hour left. We got there at 2 AM Also the drinks are expensive and the dancers are ok. We won't be going back.

Been to Boardwalk a few times and...it's kind of hit or miss. This time it was a hit. There were a few hot dancers (a few not too hot too) and a real fun, very hot bartender at the back bar. Will I go back....yep.

a previous writer said $10 cover charge. he for got to mention that the $10 also includes a free drink. w/ drinks average $7 that would mean $3 cover charge.I've been here too many times to count. Never a problem. if a dancer bothers you tell him to take a walk.

Well, after told how much was the cover charge, which I did not care, but the attitude of the doorwoman told me what kind kind of experience I could have, I said no tanks, she rapidy lowered the cover charge 50%, got in to get ripped off with drinkies, and dreadful ambient, go go boys, you saw one you had seen all of them.... first and last time!

What a rip-off - $10 cover - expensive drinks - unfriendly bar-staff - predatory rent-boy dancers and a "back room" where the "no touching" byelaw rule is enforced by an on duty staff member. Waste of time.

INCREDIBLY hot boiz everywhere, just as beefy and juicy as I like 'em! Not to mention the cute bartender on duty and some really friendly patrons (it might've had a lot to do with the amount they were drinking, too!) Was in town on business and had a blast, but before you visit the VIP den for a more "private dance", beware of predatory dancers! Had one guy work on me for a half an hour to go back for a dance, but once we got back there, he tried to shake me down for TWICE the amount we'd agreed upon before we went back. There were a couple more like him and I avoided them like the measles. Other than that, most of the other guys were friendly, hott and VERY accomodating. Would go back again!!

The Boardwalk is fun, you just got to give into it. Sometimes the dancers are amazing, and the crowd is all ages. Get into the spirit of it and you will have a great time. It's a stripper bar, and it gets you in the mood to go out dancing later. The dancers are friendly -- so, give them a few bucks and be nice. It's more than worth it - lighten up!

I got ripped off by 2 different bartenders gogo boys kept hitting on me for money and that drag queen mc who obviously LOVES the sound of her own voice has got 2 go so for the unaware/new visitor beware

Dancers need to buy a gym membership. Definitely out of shape. Acted bored. They were too busy hitting on the older guys for drinks, money, or hustling. Drinks too expensive.

I don't like cover charges, but it is only 5 or 10 bucks and they give you a drink for that, otherwise the boys are hot, but the asking for lap dances get old...just tell them no thanks and they will leave you alone...if that is what you want.

Both the beefy type and the twinks, the dancers are hot.

it's naughty. It's tragic. It's Fort Lauderdale. It has some entertainment value if you're killing sometime before going to Club Ft. Laud. (which is right down the street), but you'll get bored/creeped out quickly.
